2026 operational guide · Updated 29 July 2026
2026 tax calendar for companies and freelancers in Spain
A practical overview of major Spanish and Canary tax milestones. Not every form applies to every taxpayer: the final calendar depends on activity, legal form, territory and tax elections.

Before copying a date
A useful tax calendar is built for each company
General dates are only a starting point. They vary with monthly or quarterly frequency, direct-debit deadlines, accounting year-end, IGIC or VAT regime, withholding taxes, international operations and non-working days. Your internal document deadline should always precede the official filing date.
Official deadline
The final filing date set by the competent authority for the applicable form.
Internal deadline
The agreed day for complete invoices, payroll data, movements and supporting evidence.
Decision date
An earlier point to review investments, payments, contracts or changes before year-end pressure.

Canary Islands detail
IGIC and Canary Islands Tax Agency obligations
Businesses and professionals established or operating in the Canary Islands must determine whether IGIC applies and at what frequency. For quarterly taxpayers, Form 420 commonly has deadlines in April, July, October and January of the following year; exact dates, direct debit and related forms must be checked in the Canary Islands Tax Agency calendar.
Operations between the Canary Islands, mainland Spain, the EU or third countries may change the place of supply, invoicing and indirect tax. The customer address alone is not enough to decide.

Frequently asked questions
Using this guide
Do these dates apply to every freelancer and company?
No. They are general references. Forms, frequency and exact deadlines depend on the tax, regime, territory, legal form and taxpayer circumstances.
Does direct debit have the same deadline?
Not always. The direct-debit deadline is often earlier than the general filing date and must be checked for the specific form.
What changes for a Canary Islands company?
IGIC and Canary Islands Tax Agency obligations must be reviewed alongside relevant Spanish state taxes. Transactions with mainland Spain or abroad need additional analysis.
Why is corporate income tax shown as 27 July?
For calendar-year companies, the general calculation reaches 25 July in 2026; because that date is a Saturday, the official calendar sets Monday 27 as the deadline.
